ftp-ssl software package provides The FTP client with SSL or TLS encryption support, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ftp-ssl
ftp-ssl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ftp-ssl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ftp-ssl *
You will get with ftp-ssl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
